The concept of free content can be a bit of a stumbling block to digital course creators. At times it can seem counterproductive to spend hours, days, weeks working on projects that don’t necessarily have any immediate monetary gain. And yet I consider free content one of the key foundations to building a successful online business.

The idea of sharing what I know for free comes fairly naturally to me for a number of reasons.

1. I’m passionate about my mission, vision, and purpose.  I love sharing that with others.
2. I love seeing people win, and I light up when someone tells me that my free content has inspired them.  
3. We are all in this thing together!  So helping others has always been my main focus, not monetary gain.

Today I want to talk about Essentialism and how this can directly improve your life and your business.  How many of us are running around trying to do it all?  This constant craziness ends up making us feel emotionally and mentally exhausted…like we are running underwater and getting nowhere.

Essentialism is not about getting more done in less time.  It is about getting only the right things done.  There are two types of people:  Essentialists and Non-Essentialists.

A Non-Essentialist thinks:  “I can do both.” and asks, “How can I do it all?”

An Essentialist thinks: ”What is the trade-off I want to make?” and asks, “What can I go big on?”

A Non-Essentialist is typically stretched too thin, feels overworked and underutilized, and is often busy but not productive.

An Essentialist takes her time making decisions and understands the value of ”no”.  She know...

Today's topic is picking a niche!   

I have a lot of people who come into my business as generalists. This is the main reason why they can’t scale their business. 

It may seem counterintuitive because you may be thinking a broader audience might net you more sales but this couldn’t be further from the truth. 

Stick with me on this one.  

First let’s start with these questions:

STEP 1: What kind of transformation are you providing?  What’s the big promise? Are you going to change someone’s life? 

If you’re not changing lives then you’re not going big enough, quite frankly.  In the above clip Libby was a little bit confused about what her product line was going to be.  She really wanted to incorporate all things "witch" into her product line...when I asked her in our private Facebook group if she was committed to the "witch" she was pretty firm with me!  I loved it!  I thought, "ok now we have something here!"
